At first glance, I didn’t realize that the Marc by Marc Jacobs Nylon Q Percy Crossbody Bag wasn’t leather. Now, I’m sure that would be clear in person even if it’s not immediately obvious in photos, but the advent of an attractive nylon bag always piques my interest and brings to mind many questions.

Chief among them: how much is a nylon bag worth? Would you use a nylon bag every day, or just when the weather was bad? When you think about buying a non-leather bag, are designer names important anymore?

You know, I’ve become spoiled. Vlad takes such amazing pictures when he works on Shutterbags that I’ve turned into an image snob. Well, I don’t want to say I am too snobby, but sometimes I look at these stock images that huge retail stores offer and I feel a bit sad. Some of these images just don’t do the bag the justice that it deserves. Case in point, this Matt & Nat Hendrix Zipper Crossbody Bag.

I actually had the chance to see this bag in person when I stopped into a Bloomie’s the other day and it looks so much better in person than in these pictures. So, if you are ready to dismiss it, I’d say, don’t do that… not quite yet.

Holy leather batman! Ok, I am going to say it now so you don’t judge me later, I like this clutch. It is simple, functional and versatile. I’ll be the first to say there is nothing super special about the clutch, but there is enough that I like to peak my interest. As much as I enjoy an elegant and sophisticated clutch for a special occasion, I also love a clutch that is as sporty as I am. Maybe sporty isn’t the word I am looking for, but I think you probably catch my drift.

Folks, we have a winner. The Zambos & Siega Whitney Bag is an absolutely fabulous bag that would get quite a bit of use. This large tote is beyond perfect for so many things. I am constantly switching up my day-to-day bags because I can’t decide how big of a bag I might want to carry that day. Anyone else feel the same way?

Our commenters: oh so helpful!

I wrote about the Betsey Johnson Whips & Studs Satchel a few days ago, and one of our readers smartly pointed out that not only is there a smaller hobo version of the bag, but that Nordstrom has it discounted right now!

The bag still has a lot of the attributes of the larger version, including the very pretty studded top flap, but it’s in a small, arm-carried shape that would be great to take from day-to-night, as long as you don’t have to carry a ton of stuff with you. And at less than $150, there’s really not much thinking to be done here. Buy through Nordstrom for $129.90!

Just when I was beginning to love L.A.M.B, I come across this wallet. What is going on here? It is a hot mess.

Not too long ago I wrote about the Jessica McClintock Ring Handle Frame Clutch. Just as that clutch was a great option for several different occasions, so is this one. The Jessica McClintock Rosette Pleated Clutch is a fabulous clutch that I would be absolutely thrilled to carry. It is a wonderful handbag that will work with a great pair of jeans, pumps and a frilly top as it would with the right dress.
