Hype Janice Crossbody Tote

This bag is unbelievably ideal for fall. In a handbag world full of studs it is absolutely lovely to see a bag without them. I love studs on a bag as much as the next person, but I also need a break. If you are looking for a new handbag for this Fall season but you aren’t ready to drop big bucks, this is a bag that you should consider.

Hype Janice Crossbody Tote
The pomegranate suede exterior of the Hype Janice Crossbody Tote is what I instantly noticed and fell in love with. Any orange hue is absolutely perfect for Fall and can be paired with so much. In fact, this is the kind of color that would also be great during the Spring and Summer months. Suede is so rich to the touch that it can’t help but add dimension to any outfit.

Moving on from the color, this bag offers the right amount of trend and detailing. The grommets along the front corners and tie details at the top of each side works great together. Furthermore, can we talk about the detail along the center front of the bag? Gorgeous! I am glad that this detail isn’t on the back of the bag because I feel as though it would be too much. The double handles and removable shoulder strap offer options for how you would like to carry the bag. Clearly, I would opt for the double rolled handles, but that’s why options are always good! Buy through Bluefly for $177.

Several years back, I purchased a HYPE purple glazed leather satchel which ended up being a total disappointment! The bag started looking old and used with the color wearing off in many places just 2 months after light use.

I feel that the quality of Hype bags is very poor, and I will never purchase another one from them.

I have this bag in purple. In person, it is nothing to write home about and I am actually returning it. Quality is OK, although it has that suede look, it feels neither like suede nor like regular leather, but instead if feels like cracked heels in the winter. For this price point, comparing to say B.Makowsky bags with its plush soft thick leather (Damascus collection for example), Hype “Janice” is just not doing it for me. Plus, what looks like great details in the photo, just not the same in real life-grommets and drawstring and braiding-not harmonious enough when you have it in your hand. Like one of the details was an afterthought because there was too much available space. Hope that helps.
