As you said, the shoulder strap doesn't really belong. It definitely would work better as a clutch and maybe without such rigid corners on the top. I love the color of the satin; not too crazy about the big rectangle of leather at the top with the metal plates though. I also love the idea of incorporating a bit more color into the holiday season and since purple is so hot lately; a purple satin clutch would be a great way to do this!
