I am completely adoring the Marc by Marc Jacobs Petal to the Metal line. We’ve already covered the Pouchette as well as the Shoulder Bag. Today I have the hobo version to share with you and I am fairly confident you won’t be disappointed; I know that I am not.

Elie Tahari Dana Leather Hobo

Confession: I can’t wear heels, but I still have a couple of reasonably priced pairs, and my favorites are from Elie Tahari. If I could wear them, I would do it all the time. They’re fairly comfy for heels, and if I ever feel like I absolutely have to bust out a pair to sit around in at a fancy party, those are my go-to shoes. I try to avoid the necessity since my orthopedist has already made enough money off of me, but sometimes a girl needs her heels.

I’ve never come across an Elie Tahari handbag in person, however, but I can’t help but be impressed and intrigued by the Elie Tahari Dana Leather Hobo.

Tory Burch Military Studded Leather Satchel

Now, this is a lovely satchel. While all handbags can definitely be hit or miss, I sometimes have a harder time with satchels because designers take them all over the place – borderline hobo, borderline tote and even borderline combination of the two. Yet, here, Tory Burch was able to capture the essence of what a simple yet elegant satchel should look like. The bag might seem a little minimalistic, but sometimes that is just what you need.

Botkier Taylor Crossbody Bag

If you’ve never had one of Botkier’s lambskin bags, you really should reevaluate your life choices up to this point. Lambskin is one of the most luxurious leathers out there, Botkier makes scads of bags in it, and they’re all reasonably priced and functional, not to mention stylish. So what are you waiting for?

If now’s the time for you to hop on board, may I suggest you begin with the Botkier Taylor Crossbody Bag.

I. Love. This. Bag. As soon as I came across this bag I found myself wanting it… no scratch that… needing it! I will be the first to tell you that I am constantly checking out Marc by Marc Jacobs bags. MJ puts out some great bags but some are just a little too pricey for what you get. However, the Marc by Marc Jacobs bags are gorgeous and affordable; talk about a little piece of heaven. And speaking of heaven, let’s talk about this bag right here.

B-low the Belt Sonia Braided Hobo

B low the Belt Sonia Braided HoboEvery bag has its purpose. Some are for fabulous events, some are to compliment the perfect outfit and stay in the background, some are to make a fashion statement when what you’re wearing is simple, and some are just reasonably fashionable ways to cart your stuff from point A to point B.

As best as I can tell, the B-low the Belt Sonia Braided Hobo is a strong contender for the last category. And there’s nothing wrong with that – like I said, it takes all kinds.

Furla Elisabeth Camoscio/Croco Hobo

I’m not a big suede fan. It looks kind of dated and at times kind of cheap, and because of the texture, it gets dirty oh-so-quickly. I’ve never seriously considered buying a suede bag, and I doubt that I will any time soon. It’s not part of my personal style.

But someone’s got to be buying them, because people keep making them. And if you’re in the market for suede, the Furla Elisabeth Camoscio/Croco Hobo might just be a great bet.

Foley + Corinna Delancey Day Bag

This is a Foley + Corinna handbag that I can get excited about! For me, this brand is very hit or miss. I like some things and I cringe at others. I was first introduced to the brand when I came across the Foley + Corinna Jet Setter Jr Tote. While I liked the bag, I wasn’t totally on the fan-wagon. However, if they keep up with bags like this one, I am more likely to change my tune.

Wow. This isn’t the kind of bag I typically expect from Botkier. But you know what? That is not a bad thing. First of all, I’ve talked about the fact that I am a Botkier fan for a while now. And for any of you who are devoted to certain brands, you have got to expect a style, type of leather, or even color scheme. While I am not totally shocked that this bag is part of the Botkier family, I am definitely a little surprised.

Kate Spade Sherwood Owl Handbag

Oh my God. You guys. Not only does the Kate Spade Sherwood Owl Handbag have eyes, a metallic beak, and suede feathers, but it has feet.

I am almost too awed by the cojones that it took to actually design, manufacture and distribute this bag to say anything negative about it. And I don’t mean that in any sort of sarcastic way – it almost makes it all the way down the awesome-awful continuum and flips back around to awesome.
