For the past, oh, let’s say seven minutes, I’ve been scrutinizing this photo. And because I blog, it is only natural that I put my feelings and thoughts into a post for your enjoyment. Now, I love Treesje, I really do. The brand always seems to capture a cool, haging-off-your-shoulder-slouchy kind of feel that I absolutely adore. But this Treesje Stone Marley Mini Leather Tote? Eh.

Rafe New York Zippered Glazed Leather Hobo

Zippers, I like. Buckle detailing, I like. However, there is one question I have to ask. Is there too much of a good thing going on with this bag? The Rafe New York Zippered Glazed Leather Hobo is a gorgeous bag yet the detailing might have gone just a bit too far. I like the shiny-glazed leather hobo. The deep, rich red color is divine and I do love the way the brushed goldtone hardware pops against the shiny leather. Yet, the over use of details still proves bothersome.

Alice + Olivia Suede Hobo

As soon as I went to ShopBop today in search of bags about which to write, I saw the one in the photo over there and thought, “What a great coup for ShopBop, they’re carrying Maison Martin Margiela now!”

Except they’re not, which is too bad. They are, however, carrying the Alice + Olivia Suede Hobo, which appears to be a more or less complete ripoff of the Maison Martin Margiela X-Shaped Hobo. I’m not one to call anyone out for merely a glancing resemblance, so check the proof after the jump.

Isabella Fiore Peace & Love Rafaella Hobo

Is it just me, or has the whole Ed Hardy/Chrisian Audigier debacle (and that’s really the only word to describe it) ruined tattoo prints for all of us? I’m kind of thinking it’s not just me.

Stuff like what’s found on the Isabella Fiore Peace & Love Rafaella Hobo just doesn’t look modern and interesting anymore, and what’s worse, Audigier’s work makes it look cheap by style association.

Jack Rabbit Collection Silver Springs Shoulder Bag

September 24th, 2009 / Posted in $400 - $599 by Amanda Mull.

We’ve seen little from and heard even less about Jack Rabbit Collection, but every time I see one of their bags, I find myself impressed in one way or another. What they seem to do really well is take a simple line or a simple idea, tweak it just so, and make it look new and interesting without making it any more complicated than it needs to be.

And that’s exactly what they did to make the Jack Rabbit Collection Silver Springs Shoulder Bag such a winner.

Olivia Harris Spider Lambskin Satchel

We’ve been writing a lot about Olivia Harris lately, and it’s not for nothing, as they say. Conceived by Joy Gryson and named after her baby daughter, the bags in this line are a young-looking, lower priced alternative to her eponymous collection.

So far, the whole team at PurseBlog has been really impressed by them, and if they continue to make bags like the Olivia Harris Spider Lambskin Satchel, our opinion probably won’t change any time soon.

As seen on Gossip Girl: Treesje Dylan Tote

Georgina has the best wardrobe in all of Gossip Girl. Hers is the one that’s least costume-like; perhaps since she’s so evil, it’s more important for her to look as normal as possible. At any rate, I’d wear pretty much anything she’s ever sported during the series’ three seasons.

And last night, I spied the Treesje Dylan Tote swinging from her arm.

Cole Haan Prudence Leather Hobo

I’ve been really pleased with the recent Cole Haan bags I’ve come across. I started giving Cole Haan bags a bit more of my time once I bought a pair of great CH pumps, with Nike technology. They might just be the most comfortable and fashionable pumps I own. So, as my love for that pair of shoes grew, I thought it was time to start looking a bit more at the bags. I really loved the Cole Haan Prudence Small Satchel but I am on the fence about the larger version.

Kooba Gabi Hobo

I want a new hobo. No real reason why, I just do. That’s reason enough, isn’t it? While I wish I could simply buy just about any bag I look at, I typically try and give it a bit of thought before any purchase is made. After a bit of consideration, I have to say that I am liking what I am seeing here with this Kooba bag. Per usual, it is the sturdy yet fabulous leather that initially grabbed my attention.

When talking about this bag, I can’t help but think of what my good friend Rachel Zoe would say, “I DIE”! And for those of you who don’t know, this is a good thing. Ok, I have a confession, Rachel Zoe and I are not friends. I’ve never even met her. However, when I tap into my handbag styling self, I can’t help but think of Rachel’s go-to line. Either, way, long story short, I am loving this bag!
