While we very rarely do a review on the very same exact bag more than once, there are exceptions to every rule. It’s always fun to revisit a previously covered bag that is just a bit different. There are just some bags out there that are worth a revisit. The Marc by Marc Jacobs Classic Q Drawstringy Leather Bag is a gorgeous bag. My love for this bag started when Amanda wrote about it a couple weeks ago. My love continued to grow when I actually saw the bag in person and my love just exploded when I saw that this bag is available in an unbelievable color called grape juice!

Tory Burch Nico Distressed Metallic Leather Hobo

Ladies and gentlemen, it is official, Tory Burch really CAN produce some fabulous bags without her logo splashed all over it. Like most of you out there, I’ve become accustom to recognizing a Tory Burch bag from miles away due to the logo. This is all fine and good, but it really began to wear on my nerves. Then, I came across this beauty!

Gustto Budelli Large Bag

Slowly but surely Gustto bags have made their way into the hearts of many readers on this site. Many have said that at first glance, this brand is a little too far out there for their liking. However, as the brand continues to grow and diversify, there are more bags I like than bags I’m not fond of. There are certain details that are a bit much for me, but with the right outfit, I really think you can let the bag do the talking and pull together a great look.

Great by Sandi Tal Suede Fringe Tote

I appreciate organization. That’s not to say that I’m very good at it – my apartment gives most of my friends a headache, but there’s a theory to the chaos – I know exactly where everything is. Well, except my Blackberry, on occasion. But it’s usually just in one of my cup holders in my car, and not actually lost in my apartment, so that totally doesn’t count!

Anyway. I digress. Organization in design is an important trait, and the reason I’m kind of fond of the Great by Sandi Tal Suede Fringe Tote is because it’s a bit more orderly than your average fringe bag.

Oh Botkier, you continue to make me a happy girl. I was literally thrilled to see this bag today. The Botkier Aiden Satchel is beyond lovely. I am a huge fan of the burnt orange craze that is going on these days. This is a color I hope doesn’t go anywhere any time soon. Some stray away from bright colors like orange, but the darker hue is one that is bound to change minds.

L.A.M.B. Charlemagne Hobo

Oh, well, this is very interesting, now isn’t it?

L.A.M.B. bags are often a love-it-or-hate-it proposition, but some of the stuff I’ve seen from them in the past few weeks makes it seem like they’re really starting to get a toehold on their design aesthetic. First, we’ve been talking about one of their much-anticipated Holiday 2010 bags over on BagThatStyle recently, and now we have the L.A.M.B. Charlemagne Hobo that is newly available from ShopBop.

I’m not sure if this bag is from Fall/Winter or Holiday, but I am sure that it’s probably the most appealing L.A.M.B. bag that I’ve ever seen. One can only hope that they continue to soldier bravely on in this direction.

Furla Elisabeth Medium Shopper

Sigh. Furla, why, oh why did you add that extra strap to this otherwise lovely bag? Honestly, there is no reason to attempt to make this bag a shoulder bag. It would look oh so much better as the nice shopper it was meant to be. The Furla Elisabeth Medium Shopper is one of those bags that was so close to hitting it out of the park until someone went and added a strap that really has no business being there.

MCM Alda Small Boston Satchel

I am simultaneously a fan and not a fan of the MCM Alda Small Boston Satchel. The elegant structure makes me smile, but I’m not so sure about the logo studding. The price, however, might be enough to make me forget its ills.

Kooba Juliet Hobo

October 21st, 2009 / Posted in $400 - $599, Kooba by Amanda Mull.

Bags like the Kooba Juliet Hobo are always ones that I’ve thought the brand does particularly well: medium-sized, functional, casual shoulder bags won’t immediately look dated or make everyone think you’re a fashion victim. They’re the sort of bags that a variety of women can appreciate.

And that being said, I’m not sure why we’ve seen so few of these types of things from Kooba lately. I can understand wanting to advance your brand identity and innovate your offerings, but they do bags like this so well.

It was just yesterday that I was saying I had never liked a drawstring bag before, wasn’t it? It seems like as soon as I make a generality like that about any bag attribute, bags that I love that also share that characteristic start falling from the sky. First, it was the Rebecca Minkoff Tess Drawstring Bag – black leather, ultra useful, gorgeous.

And now, the object of my drawstring affections is the Marc by Marc Jacobs Classic Q Drawstringy Satchel. I can only anticipate their being a third drawstring bag to prove me wrong tomorrow. Things tend to come in threes, after all.
