I’ve spent the past two days in LA meeting with all sorts of fabulous people in the fashion world. I had a chance to meet with the Lockheart team yesterday and was overwhelmed by their friendliness and openness. As we sat and chatted we couldn’t help but talk about the hot colors out there and one color that kept coming up was a deep yellow, almost maize or marigold color. So on the heels of that conversation I had to stop and take note of the Brahmin Melbourne Tote.
No matter how many of their designs I see, I just can’t get over the lovely intricacies of Lockheart handbags.
So, are there really people out there trying to make this whole alpine-bohemian thing happen for winter? Because if there are, I must protest vociferously. In the words of the immortal LOLCats: Do. Not. Want.
Perhaps my personal cultural bias is showing in this opinion, but to me, the JADEtribe Safi Bag looks like it would smell like hacky sack, body odor and patchouli.
Twelfth St. by Cynthia Vincent Studded Grocery Bag
October 16th, 2009 / Posted in $200 - $399 by Amanda Mull.Hey, Twelfth Street by Cynthia Vincent. Alexander Wang called. They want their shtick back.
To the left, Wang. To the right, Cynthia Vincent. I feel like they’ve already met.
I’ve been eying the Linea Pelle Lola Medium Satchel for some time now. I got a chance to see the larger Lola in person back when we partnered with Linea Pelle for a great giveaway. At that point the Lola was a new design. While it’s not new anymore, I love the smaller version – love!
I never know how I’m going to feel about a new L.A.M.B. bag. Their aesthetic is so unique that it becomes very easy for one of their bags to take things a bit too far, particularly when it comes to their prints, of which I have never been a big fan. In fact, I think the L.A.M.B. Williamsfield Tote is the first of their printed bags that I’ve liked.
Y’all? Are you guys seeing what I’m seeing? Because if more Betsey Johnson bags looked like the Betsey Johnson Whips & Studs Tote, I’d have a whole closet full of ‘em, particularly at sub-$400 prices.
I am on a metallic kick right now. There is something about a shinny bag that I can’t get enough of. As I mentioned in my review of the Tory Burch Mini Bag, metallics are amazing – if they are done correctly. And just like leathers have so many different facets to them, whether you would think it or not, the same goes for metallic bags. While I almost passed this clutch by, I am glad I didn’t.
Tory Burch Distressed Metallic Leather Mini Bag
October 9th, 2009 / Posted in $200 - $399, Tory Burch by Shannon.Alright folks, if you don’t know this by now, I have to fill you in on a little secret, and if you do know, sorry for the repetition. I am obsessed with the Rachel Zoe Project on Bravo. I could go on and on about said obsession for the show as well as so many others on Bravo, but I will spare you. I record all of the Rachel Zoe Project episodes and watch them over and over again. Recently Rachel was talking about her love for all things metallic and I have to say I am totally with her on that, as long as it is done right.
