Clearly this is the kind of bag that is truly unique. I can’t remember the last time I saw a bag like this, can you? The embossed metallic gunmetal leather is actually the perfect pick for such a small bag. You can pull off the embossed croc and metallic look without seeming too over the top when you are dealing with a small bag (dimensions: 6″w x 6″h x 5″d). I think it is fair to say that this bag would be best used as an evening bag or a statement piece. There is no way that you can stuff everything you might need into it, so you have to be very selective as to what you would like to bring with you. Yet, there is something celeb worthy about this bag. I can think of quite a few celebs who would without a doubt carry this along with them. It’s definitely a fun, cute bag for a special occasion. For example, I’m not an overwhelming fan of the Marc by Marc Jacobs Pretty Nappa Lil Lissy Shoulder Bag, but I have a feeling that this sad tan of a neutral isn’t the only shade that it’s going to come in, and that sort of frees me up to think about the bag as a shape only. Which is great, because that color? Blech.

It just looks so soft. And when a bag is soft, functional, and assumingly comes in a color that is not the one that we see here, what else is there to worry about? The knotted handles slightly increase the casual, weekend feel of this little shoulder bag, but the overall design is simple enough that it could easily also be worn in a business-casual atmosphere, particularly in a somewhat staid color option like black. They look soft and cuddly, much like one of my long-haired stuffed animals was before I spilled medicine all over it. But that’s another story, so let’s just say that it would be best to avoid that situation with this clutch. But that should go without saying, because I know I’d be devastated if I ruined this clutch, the feathers of which were apparently quite painstakingly stitched on row by row. From the fluffy looks of it, it’s quite a lot of rows of stork feathers.

In any case, it is without a doubt one of the most glam clutches I’ve seen this fall. Not to mention that it would look wonderful in the snow, as seen in J. Crew’s winter clothing shoot in the Chilean Andes. In any case, though the fashionable factor of this clutch is high, it also has a very cozy look; dress it up with a dress or go for a model-off-duty look with a flannel boyfriend shirt. The Kate Spade Tumbled Cowhide Stevie Tote boasts some of the things I look for in a great handbag: a classic shape, a classic design and a classic color. Looking at the bag from the front on, the bag might look a little blah. However, look a bit more and you will see that this is the kind of bag that is full of grace and elegance. The tumbled cowhide is downright touchable. While I am not always a huge fan of drawstrings on handbags, the drawstring accents along the sides of this bag add the right amount of flare to the otherwise streamlined bag. Finally, the color, it is perfect for so many outfits and so many times of the year that this bag will definitely get quite a bit of use. Buy through Bloomingdale’s for $395.

We’ve covered Rebecca Minkoff clutches more than a few times, but the latest incarnation of the signature clutch, this Rebecca Minkoff Croc Clutch, has completely blown my socks off- if that’s not a legitimate expression, than it should be. That’s all not to mention that I heard about this clutch in an entirely new way. How, you ask? My mother called me to rhapsodize about it.

And it’s reasonable to understand why. Anyone looking for a classic black evening clutch but frustrated with the obsession over tiny, tiny, impossible-to-fit-anything-in-this-thing clutches can look at this classic prize and breathe a sigh of relief. The croc embossing transforms the oversized clutch from late night bright, as we’ve seen it before, to benefit party ready. And if your little fingers get tired, it of course comes with a sophisticated chain strap to hook on at a moment’s notice.

The texture gives it a bit more of an exotic, worldly feel, and that, combined with the unique hardware, rounds it out as an overall winner in the clutch/shoulder bag category. No matter what the answer is, I actually am quite a fan of the Jack Rabbit Collection Twilight Messenger Bag. This is the kind of messenger bag that will make a statement during the day or at night without looking out of place. A hint of rocker and a hint of glam combine for a really cute and fun bag. I like the gold metallic leather with zip pocket and zip details at the flap and back. The brass hardware and chain strap are the edgier elements which contrast well with the smooth metallic leather. Buy through Shopbop for $370.

The coffee colored leather is dark, rich and luscious. While I typically like the way goldtone hardware looks against hues of brown leather, I actually like the silvertone hardware used here. It is a bit different and I can appreciate that. Just a bit of stud detailing at the front and back sides of the bag help turn this every day tote from typical to terrific. The 17″ shoulder strap means you can comfortably wear this bag on your shoulder and it won’t feel like it is too snug. Buy through Bluefly for $237.

There is something about the L.A.M.B. Williamsfield Tote. In fact, I almost passed it by because Amanda already covered a L.A.M.B. Williamsfield Tote just a few weeks ago. However, the two bags although both totes, are very different. The one Amanda covered is black and white while this one has more color than you could shake a paint brush at. This colorful, functional tote repeats the logo “LOVE ANGEL MUSIC BABY” and has double rolled handles. While this isn’t the kind of bag I’d take out to a fancy dinner, I would use this to spruce up an otherwise low-key outfit. Buy through Shopbop for $295.

They’re like over-the-knee boots, except they’re for your arms and they don’t make it hard to walk! Kind of neat, right. And I’ve always wondered what you would wear with a short-sleeved heavy coat, many of which seem to be populating fashionable stores for this winter. I mean, if it’s heavy, that means your arms are going to get cold if it’s cold enough outside to wear it, right?

Well these super fierce, industrial-influenced gloves solve that problem, should you have it. And it’s a problem I’d like to have, because I’d like to have a reason to buy a pair of these. Maybe I could just sit around my apartment and blog in them? I mean, they do leave your fingers free to type…Buy through ShopBop for $312.

Oh my goodness folks, this is a Lauren Merkin clutch. Who would have thought? I’ve become so used to the classic design of Lauren Merkin clutches that I actually did a double take when I came across the Lauren Merkin Snake Fringe Clutch. After I got passed my state of surprise, I found myself liking this clutch.
