Sigh. Furla, why, oh why did you add that extra strap to this otherwise lovely bag? Honestly, there is no reason to attempt to make this bag a shoulder bag. It would look oh so much better as the nice shopper it was meant to be. The Furla Elisabeth Medium Shopper is one of those bags that was so close to hitting it out of the park until someone went and added a strap that really has no business being there.

Are you sick of fringe yet? On some bags I feel as though the fringe is far too much and then on others it still works. The new bags that are coming out still have a bit of fringe to them, but the fringe is back to being used as an accent, but the focal point of the bag. Clearly, this Twelfth St. by Cynthia Vincent Miles Fringe Bag is still on the go fringe or go home band wagon and it might work.

At first glance, I didn’t realize that the Marc by Marc Jacobs Nylon Q Percy Crossbody Bag wasn’t leather. Now, I’m sure that would be clear in person even if it’s not immediately obvious in photos, but the advent of an attractive nylon bag always piques my interest and brings to mind many questions.

You know, I’ve become spoiled. Vlad takes such amazing pictures when he works on Shutterbags that I’ve turned into an image snob. Well, I don’t want to say I am too snobby, but sometimes I look at these stock images that huge retail stores offer and I feel a bit sad. Some of these images just don’t do the bag the justice that it deserves. Case in point, this Matt & Nat Hendrix Zipper Crossbody Bag.

I actually had the chance to see this bag in person when I stopped into a Bloomie’s the other day and it looks so much better in person than in these pictures. So, if you are ready to dismiss it, I’d say, don’t do that… not quite yet.

I’ve spent the past two days in LA meeting with all sorts of fabulous people in the fashion world. I had a chance to meet with the Lockheart team yesterday and was overwhelmed by their friendliness and openness. As we sat and chatted we couldn’t help but talk about the hot colors out there and one color that kept coming up was a deep yellow, almost maize or marigold color. Bags like the Kooba Juliet Hobo are always ones that I’ve thought the brand does particularly well: medium-sized, functional, casual shoulder bags won’t immediately look dated or make everyone think you’re a fashion victim. They’re the sort of bags that a variety of women can appreciate.

And that being said, I’m not sure why we’ve seen so few of these types of things from Kooba lately. I can understand wanting to advance your brand identity and innovate your offerings, but they do bags like this so well.
