Here is yet another handbag that I can’t seem to make up my mind about. On this gorgeous South Florida Monday, the Marni Flower Appliqué Clutch has me a bit confused. At first glance, I didn’t think I liked it. The clutch sort of reminds me of the kind of pattern you might see on a couch or something like that. The midnight blue silk padded clutch seems more than anything, a little bit dated. I could see this clutch being very popular say, back in the 40’s but I am not sure about 2008. You all know that I am a sucker for satin, so that was the part of the clutch that had me wanting to give it a second chance. But, the two large resin appliqué flowers don’t really add anything to the clutch that I like. My other issue, how often could you carry this? I am sure you might have a few outfits in your closet that you could pair this with, but still, it doesn’t seem very versatile. However, if you can pull this off, buy through Net-a-Porter for $525.

I think a post I wrote about earlier this week has been on my mind ever since. As I mentioned, I was thoroughly disappointed with the Kooba Side Sling Shoulder Bag. Between the color and the shape, I felt like I needed to keep rubbing my eyes to see if I had something blocking my vision. After I posted, I read comments over on the Purse Forum and it seemed like many of you felt the same way I did about the color - drab. Today, I came across the Olivia Harris Patch EW Satchel. Now, this is a yellow leather I like. The color looks rich and luscious. Beyond that, the shape works and I love the pockets and such which adorn the handbag. Obviously satchels are big enough to use as you run around town. I feel that this one in particular can also be toted around well into the night. It is practical and stylish. Did Olivia Harris do a better job with this yellow bag than Kooba did with theirs? Buy through Luna Boston for $495.

I think we all know that bows are in this season. There have been several handbags we’ve featured which boast some amazing bows. Whether it was the Michael Kors Big Bow Clutch or the Kooba Kasie Bow Clutch there are plenty of bows for you to choose from. Well, here is yet another - the CHia New York Ima Clutch. Now, all of these clutches would be great for a night out on the town no matter what the occasion. One of the things I like the most about this clutch (besides the bow) would have to be how durable it looks. Of course I love a clutch that is whimsical, but if I am going to head out for drinks, I don’t want to worry too much about placing my clutch on the bar while I order a drink. And although I am not a huge fan of shoulder straps accompanying clutches, this handbag has a detachable one in case that is your style. I like how the “roughness” (for lack of a better word) of the leather would stand out against a soft outfit. The clutch is textured and I like it! Buy through stefaniBags for $288.

** Not only can you get this bag through stefaniBags, but buy this bag or others and enter the code PURPLE20 at checkout and you will receive 20% off, free shipping and a free Eco Tote! This promotion lasts through the end of December.**

I am thrilled for a few reasons. First of all, the eBoutique Luna Boston not only carries so many of our Savvy brands, but also carries so many styles of these brands. Next, the online store also carries Tano handbags! I have found myself recently paying more an more attention to Tano bags. Megs covered the Tano Three Fer Small Messenger Bag a little while back and although I liked it, I don’t think I would have gone out of my way to buy it. However, the Tano Carte Blanche Shoulder Bag is a different story. This is a bag I can definitely see myself carrying.

If you are like me, it was a combination of the color and shape that made me yearn for a second look. The emerald velvet-leather and brushed bronze hardware go great together. And although the shape has a classic feel, it is definitely boasts an edgy side. The other plus, would without a doubt have to be the bright orange nylon lining. I absolutely love opening a handbag only to realize what I would like to call a welcomed surprise. When a handbag has great lining, to me it shows that the handbag was well thought out from start to finish, from outside to inside. Oh ya, one more thing, the price - it is oh so reasonable. Buy through Luna Boston for $185.

Sigh. I am not happy with what I see. You might remember that I am one of Kooba’s biggest fans. In fact, I still carry around my very first Kooba which was given to me by Megs several years back. Yet, when I came across this bag, I found myself literally speechless. I really don’t know what was going on when the Kooba Side Sling Shoulder Bag was designed. I am all for thinking outside of the box and pushing the envelope, but I think this bag is a miss. There are several elements that individually work, but when combined, I just don’t think I like it. The yellow leather with silvertone hardware might work together if the shape of the bag was different. And, I am still trying to figure out how you access the contents of your bag. Do you squeeze your hand through the cinched top closure, or is that zipper on the side actually a way into the bag? Don’t get me wrong, I am sure there are plenty of people out there who could pull this off, yet, when all is said and done, this bag isn’t for me. If it is up your alley, buy through Bluefly for $381.

There is something about slouchy handbags that always draws my eye. As much as I love a structured clutch or a trendy handbag, I really love the casual, carefree look. Some people ask Megs and I about all the designer garb we have. Yes, between the two of us we have some really nice pieces, but day to day, we are really jeans and t-shirt girls. I have a weakness for a great fitting pair of jeans and a fabulous yet comfy t-shirt paired with a casual handbag. The Junior Drake Phoebe Soft Top Zip Hobo would more than go with my day-to day look. This slouchy Indigo leather bag is accented with a tassel zip pull and braided details on the handles. I recently the Linea Pelle Samantha Bag to my collection and hands down, my favorite feature is the two-way zip closure. This bag has the same thing! I love that I can just unzip part of the bag and still find my keys, cell phone or lip gloss. Trust me, if you don’t have a handbag with this feature, invest in one, you’ll love it. As I admired this bag, it got me wondering, what kind of bag are *you* carrying around day to day? If you are looking for a new one and share my similar style, buy this bag through Nordstrom for $378.

Two Purse Blog Savvy giveaways in one month! We are thrilled to have Elliott Lucca sponsor our second giveaway this month. Just like the Hayden-Harnett giveaway, Elliott Lucca has THREE amazing handbags up for grabs from the Pascale Collection. Click here to see what you can win!

I am still laughing. So, my last post on Purse Blog Savvy was just about how I was in the mood for color. This is true, I still am. However, wouldn’t you believe, as soon as I started looking around, color was just everywhere! You have to notice the crayola big box worth of color displayed on this Giuseppe Zanotti Clutch. I’m not sure if I think the use of color makes the clutch look like it was made for a small child or if the use of color is just right when accompanied with an all black or close to all black ensemble. I mean, I suppose you could carry this clutch while wearing a bright shirt and dark pants, but I would really be worried that my over-all look was too 80’s neon-esque. No matter if you like the clutch or if you absolutely hate it, there is without a doubt an element of fun to it. And this being the case, it doesn’t matter how old you are, from time to time, all we want is to have a little fun! So what do you think, yay or nay? Buy through Zappos for $769.

I’m in the mood for color. As I glanced at the site today I noticed a lot of black, or dark colored handbags. I figured, no matter what season, we can all use a break from the expected and take a look at something you might not think you’d be looking at during this time of year. Over the summer, a group of friends and I headed to the shore and rented a beach house for the week. It was fabulous. The only missing was an amazing beach tote like this Emilio Pucci Cancello Nylon Bag. Yes, I am thinking about a beach weekend while I live in Ft. Lauderdale and while the month of December just began. Is that so wrong? This bag would be a perfect beach bag. It has ample room for my numerous magazines, bottles of water and of course various SPF options. Emilio Pucci is known for patterns and colors that pop. So, if you think this bag is a tad too big with a tad too much color, you can always check out the Mombasa Small Tote Megs wrote about a while back. But either way, I think an Emilio Pucci handbag, no matter what size is a fun addition to anyone’s collection. Buy through eLuxury for $675.
