There are some colors that I think can be used throughout the entire year. Sure, the color might really pop during one season more than another, but none-the-less, the color works year round. Add that fabulous color to a tote-worthy bag and I am a happy camper. The Bulga Janet Studded Bag fits into this category. The coral leather is gorgeous. But, I definitely think it was a combination of how soft the leather looks and the color of the bag that really caught my eye. The gold plated hardware and studding spice up the bag nicely. Maybe it is because I live in a tropical climate, but I don’t see a problem sporting this bag now or even during the winter. This color could brighten up even the gloomiest winter day. I almost forgot to mention it, but the zipper tab is adorned with the ever so popular fringe! Whether you are about to jump onto a motorcycle or head out for cocktails, this bag could totally work. Over the past couple weeks, I keep seeing Lamarthe handbags. I have to say, there is something about these handbags I absolutely love. After trying to pin point what I love about the bags, I realized that more than anything, they just seem to be impeccably made. The Lamarthe First Class Drawstring Bag is no exception. At first glance, this handbag screams class and sophistication. The dusty rose leather and silvertone hardware work well together. I’m not usually a huge fan of this color, but it doesn’t look too girly which I do like. The drawstring opening is covered by a flap over with ring detailing and there is one of my favorite additions to the handbag world, an interior magnetic snap closure. You know, the other thing about this bag that I like is that it seems as though it could work for a wide spectrum of age groups. Well, Lamarthe designers have done something right since the first boutique opened in 1936, celebrities as well as some of the most fashionable women of their time have been spotted carrying Lamarthe handbags. What about you, if you haven’t heard of Lamarthe before, are you going to keep your eye out? Buy through Bluefly for $455.

Bows are back. Well, actually, do they ever completely go away? I mean, I definitely notice that bows are more popular some years than the next, but I feel like bows are an accessory that never completely disappear. Kooba found a great way to incorporate a bow into their clutch. The Kooba Kasie Bow Clutch is definitely one I would love to see in my closet. The crosshatched metallic leather is contrasted with leather piping. The pleating and bow detail on the front of the clutch takes a classic look and makes it chic, urban and youthful. Now, since I am a huge Kooba fan, I am sure my opinion could be a little biased. But, I have to say, Kooba bags are wonderfully made. I’ve had my first Kooba for about six years now and it looks as amazing as the day it was given to me. Well, minus a few of my own mishaps of course. So, if this clutch is made like a typical Kooba bag, it is sure to stay looking gorgeous for all the bow seasons to come. Buy through Bluefly for $195.

I’ve been lucky enough to meet a few of our Savvy designers including the ladies at Treesje. I know I am always excited to learn more about emerging designers and their lines. As Treesje bags continue to garner attention, I was thrilled to see the Treesje Hudson Large Hobo. Honestly, the first thought that comes to mind with this bag is chic. And as much as I love the deep and dark colors of the fall, I love when designers incorporate the golden hues that, in my mind, tend to be forgotten. For those of you who are experiencing the gorgeous changing colors of the leaves, you know what I am talking about. One of the most beautiful things about the Fall can be admiring the amazing crispness in the air and the impeccable color show the trees put on.

Either way, the yellow, soft pleated leather is a perfect combination for this bag. Since the pleating of the leather goes in different directions, I think the bag looks more textured and, well, fun. Then, add the braided shoulder strap and adjustable side buckles and the bag really comes together. The hobo has fabric lining with zip and cell phone pockets. I can’t express how important I think pockets are with larger bags like this one. Wouldn’t this hobo be perfect to tote around with your favorite Fall colored sweater? And for those of you like me who live in places where the climate is pretty warm year-round, fear not. Pair this hobo with a Fall colored tank top and get the same Fall look, just without as much fabric! Personally, I think it is a hit. Buy through Bluefly for $342.90.

Rag & Bone Leather Clutch

Clutches are and continue to be a staple of my wardrobe. Why? They are easy, compact, and can snazz up an outfit. And while there are the dressy clutches, a gal like me, in her mid 20’s, needs something fun and hip. For all the dinners and nights out, I can not own an expensive clutch for each occasion. That is why I turn to the more affordable brands to give me a wide range of colors, looks, and bank account friendly prices. Take the Rag & Bone Leather Clutch for example, which is designed with soft and supple blue grained leather and trimmed with black leather, a perfect option for a casual night out. The aged gold metal hardware is the perfect touch and the flap top with clasp closure seals the deal. The dimensions are large enough to carry the essentials, and not leaving you with a tiny clutch, 12.25″x 8″x 0.5″. The inside actually has a zipped pocket. Simple and lovely. I can’t help but find myself wondering what it would feel like for a handbag designer (or any designer for that matter) to see one of your bags being carried by a celebrity. To think about all the time and effort you’ve put into your designs, the line, and then finally - one of your bags is photographed being carried by a celebrity. It must be an amazing feeling; perhaps a combination between a sigh of relief and holding your breath waiting to see what others are going to say. Well, the Tracy Zych New York Medium Edie Bag has been seen on the arm of many of Hollywood’s most famous celebs. And to me, it seems like there is a good reason for it. First of all, the bag is the perfect combination of practical, young and fun. Plus, the handbag is available in several great colors: red (pictured here), blue, pink, black, ivory and yellow. Of course, some colors are harder to find than others, but they are out there! I’m a fan of the red right now because well, if nothing else, how fantastic are most red handbags? Even if the bag is pretty simple, almost any red handbag has an extra hint of sexiness to it. Double straps, gold hardware and plenty of storage space makes this bag perfect for so many occasions. Yes, this site as well as Purse Blog is dedicated to designer handbags. And when I say designer handbags, Ed Hardy might not come to mind. If that is what you are thinking, I would have to agree with you. However, from time to time, I come across something I can’t help but share. So, it is true, I am an Ed Hardy fan. I’m not talking over-the-top, head-to-toe Ed Hardy gear, but some of the shirts are simply awesome. Now, put that with a pair of your favorite jeans or a sexy skirt, a pair of killer sunglasses and you can have a pretty awesome look. When I came across the Ed Hardy Lace Lily Clutch, I found myself thinking about how even the girliest of girls might like it. The clutch is made of durable printed canvas with a signature embroidered Ed Hardy tattoo design. Add a little leather piping and trim, and I think you’ve found yourself a great daytime and even casual nighttime clutch. And even if it isn’t your type, at it’s price, it could be a perfect gift for any of your rocker-chick friends! Buy through Zappos for $69.

For whatever reason, from time to time, I find myself craving a handbag or piece of clothing (usually a top) that has an asymmetrical feel to it. It is almost as if I need something that seems a little edgy, a little off centered, a little different. I am not saying that I always go for clean, straight lines, but I definitely crave something edgy more than I crave something clean cut. This Dautore Celeste Leather Slouchy Pocket Satchel is a handbag I might need to invest in. What I truly like about this bag is that upon first glance several things stand out - and in a good way.

I love the color, the angles and how soft the leather looks. No, this shade of blue isn’t a color I would traditionally think of during the Fall season, but it works. The grain leather and silvertone hardware work draw the bag together. A 15″ shoulder strap allows the bag to be carried pretty much any way you’d like to: on your shoulder, hung on your arm at your elbow or carried in hand. But, as I mentioned before, I really find myself to be a fan of the angles. This handbag would add some spice to even the simplest jeans, white t-shirt and flipflops outfit. If the only thing holding you back is the color, fear not, the handbag comes in black too! Buy through Bluefly for $333.90.

You know what has been most fun for me while working on Purse Blog Savvy? Trying to find great bag at incredibly low prices. And while the prices are not low to the un-handbag lovers out there, they are quite low compared to what we typically post on Purse Blog.

Michael Kors, like many other designers (Marc Jacobs), has a more affordable line under his main Michael Kors line. The MICHAEL by Michael Kors line offers more entry level prices on designer goods. Many times the designs seem to gear toward the 20 year old crowd (perfect for me), but either way it is still a designer good. One of my favorite aspects of the ‘more affordable’ lines sent out by designers is that many times you can nab a high end look for much less.

The MICHAEL Michael Kors Wild Venus Large Saratoga Shoulder Bag is one of the savvy bags that really excites me. Here is exactly what I love about this bag: smooth vanilla grained leather, brushed gold metal hardware, elegant look, perfect price. Seriously, this is the kind of bag that just works. The inside has woven canvas lining, and for under $400 I would not expect suede. Dimensions are not tiny, 12″ (at base)x 12″x 7″. This is a homerun for Michael Kors! Buy through eLuxury for $348.

Back in college, wristlets were all the rage. I mean, in all reality, they were perfect for a night out bar hopping or heading to a house party. Wristlets are large enough to fit your credit cards, ID, some cash, and your house keys while being compact enough that you didn’t have to worry about ruining it in a crowded bar or at a rowdy party. But, is there a age cut-off with wristlets? Personally, I haven’t toted one around since college, but that doesn’t mean you can’t. Take for example, the Kenneth Cole New York Tabloid Wristlet. This is the kind of wristlet I could see many different age groups sporting. The black wristlet is made of leather, holds your credit cards, money, cell phone and even a cell phone (if it’s not too bulky). And as to be expected, there is a wrist strap; pretty much a no brainer, huh? I like the top flap with magnetic closure and the top zip closure. I think this wristlet is well crafted and overall has a nice look and feel to it. However, I am still stuck on if I would use a wristlet at this point in my life. To be honest, I think at this point in my life, I would grab a clutch as I run out the door before I would grab a wristlet. Yet, there are many occasions where a wristlet might be the best option for you. Buy through Zappos for $148.
