I first thought this bag would be perfect for the beach or pool, but the model shown carrying it is wearing the usual New Yorker outfit of black boots and parka. Surprisingly, the burst of color works very well with the outfit; perhaps Tory is suggesting that we infuse more color into our winter wardrobes? Whatever the case, it’s a playful mix of sophisticated and fun.

But the tote is certainly not for those who’d rather stick to their black and tan leather basics. No, this needs a brave toter, one who’s not afraid of rocking a teal leopard-print in the shape of a heart. And it’s for those of you looking to incorporate animal prints in a bold fashion, or those who really want a taste of the 80s with modern sleekness and bubbly color. So have fun, pair it with your work suit, and see what that plum does for you. Buy through Net-A-Porter for $195.

The Tory Burch Nico Distressed Metallic Leather Hobo is a gorgeous twist on a classic shape. As I’ve mentioned before, metallics are everywhere and this is totally fine by me. I love a nicely crafted metallic. However, I’ve become so used to seeing silver and gold metallics that I practically didn’t know what to do with myself when I saw this fantastic blue metallic bag. I love the way the gold-tone hardware adds to the shimmer of the entire bag. A single shoulder strap with a 10″ drop will fit perfectly on your shoulder without hugging against your body too closely. I can’t forget to mention the top magnetic snap closure which I find to be essential when it comes to securing your belongings in a hobo. Great hobo! Buy through Bloomingdale’s for $465.

But upon further examination, my favorite part isn’t that the bag and I have the same name – it’s that instead of the usual gold hardware, Tory Burch chose to use a beautiful dark silver tone.

The bag itself is pretty standard, but I think that it’s executed very well. The leather that Burch chooses for her bags is almost always incredibly smooth and expensive-looking, and although big logos normally irritate me, the metal charm sort of works here. It looks big enough to hold all of your essentials without being unwieldy, and I could see it easily being taken from day to night. Plus, the price is pretty reasonable. Just a couple days ago I covered a metallic bag that was a miss. Yet today, I came across the Tory Burch Distressed Metallic Leather Mini Bag, another metallic that was done correctly. I am increasingly pleased with the newer Tory Burch bags that don’t have the logo splashed all over them. The logo is still here, but it isn’t the focal point. This small bag can be carried on your shoulder or conceal the strap and carry it as a clutch. Shockingly enough, this might be the only time I’ve said that I wouldn’t hide the shoulder strap. I love the long gold chainlink shoulder strap, it really adds character to the bag. This is a bag that would certainly spruce up any night time outfit! Buy through Bloomingdale’s for $250.

Put very simply, Tory Burch makes very attractive clothes that a variety of women would want to wear, and she makes them at prices that are attainable for a retail audience that most people showing at Bryant Park would rather ignore. Perhaps that’s why her young brand continues to prosper while others struggle to make it out of the red; the fact that she makes things that I want to rip off of a model and wear tonight can’t hurt, either.

Take a look at that little sequin ditty over there. It’s adorable with the skirt, but would probably be equally adorable with black skinny jeans, gladiator heels, and a boyfriend blazer. I would wear that today. I want it for this weekend. Does it come in any other colors? The great thing is, there are so many other pieces in this collection that I have the exact same feelings about. Burch continues to mature and evolve as a designer, and as she does, her collections are only getting better and better.

What she does so masterfully is take basics and give them a note of glitz and glam that appeals to a huge subset of customers that might be willing to splurge a little bit in order to have something special for themselves, as well as those for which the clothes are well within reach. Even if you’re not a fan of Burch’s overall aesthetic, I’m sure you can look through these pictures and find at least one or two pieces that you’d like to have in your wardrobe, and I can’t say that about many of the other shows I’ve perused this week.

The Tory Burch Military Studded Leather Satchel is a perfect option for a bag that might seem a bit simple. With the stud trend we are all familiar with, it is refreshing to see just a splash of studs instead of an overwhelming amount. At first I wasn’t exactly sure why the name of the bag had the word “military” in it, but upon further investigation I can see why. The way the studs are placed along the bag give just a slight military-inspired feel to this vintage satchel. Since there isn’t an overwhelming amount of studs, you can carry this to work with your work appropriate attire or pair it with a killer night-on-the-town outfit and this bag works too. The gold-tone hardware is perfect with the black leather buy adding just a hint of pizazz. Buy through Bloomingdale’s for $475.

So what do you do if those things really don’t jibe with your personal style? What if you need or want something a bit more conservative, but still on-trend and chic? You buy the Tory Burch Courtney Mini Bag, obviously.

The bag is on-trend without looking like a part of a costume or something that can only be worn by teenage It Girls or Russian models. The string ray-embossed gunmetal trim provides a bit of a counterpoint to the staid black (or is it navy? I’m second-guessing myself) leather of the bag’s body, but the combination is neutral enough that it won’t clash with any outfit that a one-color bag wouldn’t have clashed with on its own.

My one gripe is the hardware – with such a slick, ladylike bag in black and gunmetal, I would have much preferred silver to gold. Buy through Bloomingdale’s for $395.

The fall line of Tory Burch handbags, shoes, clothing, and accessories has hit Saks this week. Problem is not with the goods, as I am seriously crushing on most everything, but the image Saks came up with.

With a massive corporation like Saks, you would expect their graphics department to make sure each image is pristine. Yet we ran into a major Photoshop Fail today on the Saks website. When you click on the image to view the larger version, you can see the Tory Burch Stitched T Flat Tote, which looks entirely cropped into the image and like it does not belong. Why did Saks have to go and ruin a great shot and a great Tory Burch piece?

Today is Monday, and since it is the beginning of the week, what better time to start-a-new than now? It is pretty simple folks, I am a fan of the Tory Burch Nashe Messenger Bag. This folded canvas messenger bag might look a bit ordinary if it wasn’t for the logo medallion, leather banding, wooden disc and leopard-print enamel which surrounds the medallion. Typically, I would say a white messenger bag might get too dirty too soon, but this is one I might take extra good care of, sling over my shoulder and sport it proudly. Buy through Shopbop for $395.

Gone are the heavy logos and patterns of Burch bags past. What we’ve got here is sleek and clean but with enough signature details to make it cohesive with the brand’s design ideology. Shiny gold hardware is something that you find a lot more in this brand than in others, and although it’s unexpected with distressed army-green leather, it sort of works when you learn who made it. The design successfully melds two styles while making an on-trend crossbody bag for the boho chic crowd, and it does all of that for a very reasonable price.
