Writing about Marc by Marc Jacobs bag is almost always very pleasant. They’re reasonably priced, made of really nice leather for their price tags, and most of the bag shapes come in enough colors that most people will be able to find one that they like.

For example, I’m not an overwhelming fan of the Marc by Marc Jacobs Pretty Nappa Lil Lissy Shoulder Bag, but I have a feeling that this sad tan of a neutral isn’t the only shade that it’s going to come in, and that sort of frees me up to think about the bag as a shape only. Which is great, because that color? Blech.

Marc by Marc Jacobs Pretty Nylon Laptop Case

Could it be true? Has Marc Jacobs heeded by advice? A few weeks ago, I wrote about the excessively plain and utterly un-Marc Marc by Marc Jacobs Computer Sleeve. And now, my friends and (perhaps) fellow laptop owners, we have a new case from Marc, this vibrant Marc by Marc Jacobs Pretty Nylon Laptop Case.

All right, so it’s not the cat’s pajamas of laptop cases, but the color and quintessential nylon Marc style make it quite worth it. Plus it’s padded on the inside- so it looks like Marc, but with all the protection your delicate laptop requires. Sorry, that kind of sounded like an ad… ah well. You see, while bright blue isn’t my all-time favorite color, I still harbor a slight obsession with the shade. So while this case doesn’t have super-fun doodles dancing on the sides, the blue does make up for it.

Marc by Marc Jacobs Pretty Nylon Vanity Case

When I was little, my mom had a mint green leather vanity case that she would always use every time we went on vacation, and I remember being totally jealous of it. Not that it was particularly spectacular (I was born in the mid 80s and I think that particular set of luggage was a holdover from the late 70s, based on the color) or that I had anything to put in it at that age – it just seemed like the sort of thing that big girls had for all of their big girl beauty needs.

Fast forward a couple of decades, and I have plenty of beauty products that need a home when I travel and absolutely zero adorable pieces of luggage in which to put them. So maybe the Marc by Marc Jacobs Pretty Nylon Vanity Case is my childhood dream come true?

Marc By Marc Jacobs Miss Marc Coin Purse

Here’s the thing. A while ago, when the Marc By Marc Jacobs Miss Marc tee shirts came out, I was totally against them. You could even say I was creeped out. A Nighmare-Before-Christmas-esque girl smack dab in the middle of my shirt? No thanks. But my sentiments towards Miss Marc promptly changed when I spotted this Marc By Marc Jacobs Miss Marc Coin Purse.

You see, I carry a lot of pens and pencils and colored pencils (really, who knows when I might need them) with me, that student’s curse. I’m therefore always on the lookout for fun pen pouch to throw in my bag so that I don’t get pen marks on my bag’s lining. And this little purse certainly fits the bill. It’s certainly the right size for my writing utensils, and the fun design ensures that it’ll be found even in a black-lined bag.

Marc by Marc Jacobs Natasha Classic Q Shoulder Bag

No kidding: I’m approximately a half second away from ordering the Marc by Marc Jacobs Natasha Classic Q Shoulder Bag on Net-a-Porter. I’m barely restraining myself. The color? Beautiful. The leather? Soft. The size? Functional. The price? Reasonable.

While we very rarely do a review on the very same exact bag more than once, there are exceptions to every rule. It’s always fun to revisit a previously covered bag that is just a bit different. There are just some bags out there that are worth a revisit. The Marc by Marc Jacobs Classic Q Drawstringy Leather Bag is a gorgeous bag. My love for this bag started when Amanda wrote about it a couple weeks ago. My love continued to grow when I actually saw the bag in person and my love just exploded when I saw that this bag is available in an unbelievable color called grape juice!

Marc by Marc Jacobs Magazine Leather Clutch

This isn’t the first time that we’ve seen the Magazine Clutch, but since Marc Jacobs continues to change everything up a bit, I figured it was worthwhile to discuss this particular version as well. I discussed the shape of this clutch almost a year ago. I liked it then and I like it now. Recently, Amanda wrote about the Stamped Velvet version which looks a bit more like this one.

Marc by Marc Jacobs Nylon Q Percy Crossbody Bag

At first glance, I didn’t realize that the Marc by Marc Jacobs Nylon Q Percy Crossbody Bag wasn’t leather. Now, I’m sure that would be clear in person even if it’s not immediately obvious in photos, but the advent of an attractive nylon bag always piques my interest and brings to mind many questions.

Chief among them: how much is a nylon bag worth? Would you use a nylon bag every day, or just when the weather was bad? When you think about buying a non-leather bag, are designer names important anymore?

Marc by Marc Jacobs In to the Wild Standard Supply Mabel Tote

I have a deep and abiding appreciation for a silly handbag moment. Life isn’t always serious, and there’s room in my wardrobe (and, I suspect, in most people’s) for something fun and maybe a bit over the top.

Luckily for us, when there are bags like the Marc by Marc Jacobs Into The Wild Standard Supply Mabel Tote on the market, a fun bag doesn’t have to break the bank.

It was just yesterday that I was saying I had never liked a drawstring bag before, wasn’t it? It seems like as soon as I make a generality like that about any bag attribute, bags that I love that also share that characteristic start falling from the sky. First, it was the Rebecca Minkoff Tess Drawstring Bag – black leather, ultra useful, gorgeous.

And now, the object of my drawstring affections is the Marc by Marc Jacobs Classic Q Drawstringy Satchel. I can only anticipate their being a third drawstring bag to prove me wrong tomorrow. Things tend to come in threes, after all.
