It’s not like I’ve never seen the Linea Pelle Dylan line before. I have. The collection has been popular and widely appreciated for some time now, but it never really made me go “OMG AMANDA WANT” like some other bags.

Slowly, though, the love for these bags has been creeping up on me. I’ve found myself to be quite a fan of the hobo, and now I think I’m also in love with the Linea Pelle Dylan Large Speedy.

Now *this* is a messenger bag I can sink my teeth into. Linea Pelle bags are known for soft, supple and durable leather. If you’ve never had the chance to at least touch one, you should stop what you are doing and head to the nearest place you know you can get your hands on one of these bags. The leather that is used is the kind that gets better over time and who could find a problem with that? I’ve died and gone to soft, supple, clutch heaven. We not only covered but also gave away a Linea Pelle Alyssa Tote a few months back and it was a huge hit. To be honest, there is no reason that it wouldn’t be. The entire Linea Pelle Alyssa line is to die for. The leather is supple, colorful and ages beyond gracefully.

For those of you Linea Pelle fanatics, you know you need to act fast since so many pieces will go before you can blink twice.

I was recently sold on the whole “studded bag” trend, but I’m still a bit apprehensive. Before I saw the Linea Pelle Dylan Medium Tote, I hadn’t come across a single studded bag that I’d actually wear. This I would, for a bevy of reasons.

For me, many studded bags just seem way too over-the-top, and a little dangerous for my palm in the case of studded clutches. But this tote has minimal yet well-placed studding; it wraps around the base of the bag and staples on the top and base of the strap, connecting the straps to the bag. Even better, the hardware and zippers are the same light gold shade as the rounded studs, flowing the design throughout the tote.

The combination of zippers and studs isn’t overly rocker as one might expect, but it serves as a welcome juxtaposition to the buttery, almost softly wrinkled Italian leather; the rough shininess of the studs and jaggedness of the zipper adds a casual touch to that leather. The final, favorite touch of mine comes by way of a removable shoulder strap that, if worn, allows the heavy straps to flop forward over the bag, creating a coolly effortless look. Oh, messenger bags. For me a messenger bag conjures up a memory of this girl in middle school who was just too cool to carry a backpack, instead opting for a nylon messenger bag (yes, it was Jansport). I either think of that, or those great hand-tooled leather bags in the softest honey brown that always seem to be carried by beautiful young model-esque guys… Ok, so I think of many things when I think of a messenger bag. But before I saw the Linea Pelle Janis Messenger Bag, I had never thought bohemian, though it’s less of a superboho bag than the LP Janis Fringe, from our Week 3 Giveaway.

Linea Pelle takes an iconic bag shape and molds it to another style. It’s the perfect blending of utilitarian and effortless chic that gives this bag its appealing silhouette. Think about it: you can pack it full of textbooks (though who would do such a thing to the gorgeous Italian leather!”), or you can toss in the normal handbag essentials and let it lay flat against your thigh. Either way, you still get the vintage look with a pinch of bohemian braiding, while not giving up the space you need (which so many tiny suede fringed bags sacrifice). I am absolutely, without a doubt one of the biggest Linea Pelle fans out there. I should probably say that I am a bit spoiled because not only do I own a couple Linea Pelle pieces, but I also had the chance to meet with several staff members, including the Creative Director, Andrew Cotton, of the brand.

Yet, no matter what, the bags simply speak for themselves. Take the Linea Pelle Lola Clutch for example. I don’t own one (yet) but I have seen it in person. The leather is absolutely smooth, touchable and versatile. One of the great things about the leather used for Linea Pelle handbags is that it can withstand just about anything you put it through.

Beyond that, this bag in particular can be carried as a clutch or a small handbag. Although I am not sure I would use this handbag as an option with one of my fanciest outfits, it is sure to make its way into your daily rotation. Plus, this clutch is bound to transcend seasons. It isn’t that often that I end up writing about a handbag in my collection. I do love writing about handbags I’d love to add to my collection or handbag styles I can’t get enough of, but here is an instance where I can’t help but share one of my favorite handbags with you. The Linea Pelle Samantha Large Double Handle handbag is one that I absolutely love. First of all, for any of you who have had the opportunity to see a Linea Pelle bag in person, you know how wonderful the leather is – durable yet fashionable. The one aspect of this bag that I can’t get over is the double-zippers. You can open just one of the zippers as you reach in to quickly grab your keys or open both zippers in order to find that pen you know you threw in the bag at some point. The leather-covered pyramid studs are just a tad different than other studs you might notice on handbags. They are a bit more subtle but none the less noticeable. And in all honesty, I can’t tell you how many people have stopped me and asked me about this handbag. It definitely catches people’s attention. And no matter what my outfit might be, there is a good chance this is the handbag I grab as I run out of the house. If I have tempted you just a bit, buy this handbag through Linea Pelle for $595.
