At first, I was really excited when I initially saw the LeSportsac Pop Shopper. I thought, how wonderful! A bag that folds up super tiny that you can throw in your regular bag and pull out if you get caught in the rain or if you make an impromptu trip to the grocery to grab a few things and don’t want to waste a plastic bag!

But, upon further examination, that’s not exactly the case. It’s just a nylon bag that comes with a little pouch. Anyone else a bit disappointed?

LeSportsac Pearl Lightning Drew Backpack

I was never much of a backpack girl after, say, eight grade. Once the teens set in, it was just so lame to carry a backpack.

Well, now that I’m in my 20s and I have no idea what 14-year-olds might consider cool (nor do I care), I find myself kind of enjoying the LeSportsac Pearl Lightning Drew Backpack. I have no use for it and even if I did, I would probably get it dirty, but this shiny little backpack is oddly appealing.

LeSportsac Big Laptop Case

Normally I’m not a big proponent of buying designer stuff to do utilitarian things. I don’t need flashlights, playing cards, and toilet paper to be adorned with designer insignia in order to feel comfortable incorporating it into my life and using it very day.

But that doesn’t mean that something isn’t utilitarian and useful just because it was made my a brand, which is exactly what the LeSportsac Big Laptop Case is. It’s functional and non-pretentious, which is exactly what we should all expect from LeSportsac.

LeSportsac Gretta Shoulder Bag

It seems like it’s been raining every hour, on the hour here for approximately the past six days. Just as it manages to get sunny and steamy outside from all the water on the ground, the sky opens up and it rains again, for another ten minutes. I don’t think I’ve come out of a building to find my car dry in almost a week, whether or not it was raining when I entered. And not only has that caused some interesting and unfortunate hairstyles, but it’s given me an ongoing bag dilemma. I don’t want to carry an ugly bag, but I also don’t want to get any of my cute bags wet or watermarked, since I never know when the heavens will open up and pour. Every few months we have a stretch of weather like this, and I go in search of the perfect bad-weather bag

LeSportsac Gretta Shoulder Bag

And this time, it’s the LeSportsac Gretta Shoulder Bag. Black bags are one of the big trends for winter, and this bag fulfills that requirement nicely. The material is nylon instead of leather, making it much more impervious to the elements, but the patent treatment gives it a big dose of glamor to disguise the fact that you are, indeed, carrying a nylon bag. And really, that’s the mark of a successful bag bought for bad weather – it still serves its essential purpose while looking like it might be something more. Buy through Luna Boston for $68.

LeSportsac Kenya Large Weekender

I have an unnatural, unhealthy, all-encompassing obsession with and love for zebra print. I’m moving into a new apartment in the not-distant future, and I have scoured the internet in search of the perfect zebra-print pillows for my bedroom (I’ve got a scarlet comforter and black sheets – wouldn’t that be cute?) and a similarly patterned shower curtain (Target has one, but it’s $25 and I’m cheap about stuff like that). I found a zebra rug I like, but I don’t have anywhere to put it, so I don’t think I can justify buying it. Which is sad for me – I can justify buying almost anything.

LeSportsac Kenya Large Weekender

And I can definitely justify the LeSportsac Kenya Large Weekender. Who does need a couple of great bags to take on short trips or use as airplane carry-ons? And if they come in big, bold, easily identifiable patterns, well, even better! Plus, patterns conceal wear and tear, which is a constant concern with bags that are used for travel. In an overhead compartment, you’d certainly never have to think twice about which bag was yours, plus it’s totally fun and full of personality when so many bags meant for the same purpose are drab and lacking style. I’ll take one – and maybe a couple of extras to stuff and make into pillows. Buy through Shop Bop for $98.

LeSportsac Page Cosmetic Bag

I get to take a little weekend vacay, you guys! This weekend, my friend and I decided to get the heck out of dodge and booked an $80 hotel in Savannah so we can wander around, eat, drink, and look at the ocean for a few days. Yes, we’re cheap people, and this is the cheapest hotel we could find that didn’t look like it was going to get us shot. You know what I’m not cheap about, though? Anything that can be classified as a handbag or accessory. Which is why, if I had had a bit of forethought (which, face it, forethought is not really my strong suit), I would have bought a LeSportsac Page Cosmetic Bag to take with me.

LeSportsac Page Costmetic Bag

I’m one of those people that needs a huge one – I have ‘problem hair’ that I flat iron, which requires a ton of product, and I’m a big fan of things like foundation primer, setting powder, and having 800 eyeshadows from which to choose. This cosmetic bag has two big compartments to separate hair and makeup toiletries, plus a zipper for brushes and small items to keep everything organized. I think even my gigantic bottle of contact solution would fit in to it, and that’s quite a feat indeed. Buy through ShopBop for $62.

LeSportsac Frieda Waist Bag

lesportsac-frieda-waist-bagNo. No, no, no. I cannot support the return of the designer fanny pack. I thought we were over that after Sarah Jessica Parker wore a Gucci “waist pouch” on “Sex and the City” about a million years ago. Apparently not, though, becase LeSportsac has decided that we need to revisit this nontrend with the LeSportsac Frieda Waist Bag. Although this is definitely less expensive than the Gucci fanny pack, I still have the same problems with it. Why in the world would a woman of ANY size willingly strap extra bulk to what is already the widest part of many of their bodies? That’s not flattering on anyone, and it screws up the line of how perfectly good clothes hang and makes them all bunchy around the midsection. Plus it jiggles when you walk and you’ll probably have to adjust your pants all the time while wearing it. So don’t. Do yourself a favor and don’t even think about it. Let this one go by. LeSportsac Peacock Travel Tote

Every now and then, I see a great, functional tote bag and think, “That would be great to take to class! My laptop would fit!” And I get all excited, and then I realize that I’m not in college anymore. And I haven’t been for, like, 6 months. And I don’t really miss college (I still live in my college town, which afford me a lot of the perks of college without actually going to class), but I do miss having a reason to buy a cute tote bag every now and then. And today, if I was still in college, I’d want to order the LeSportsac Peacock Travel Tote. I love the brown and teal color combination, I love the modernized paisley pattern, and I love that such a bold print would likely disguise a lot of the obvious wear-and-tear that happens to a bag that gets thrown on the floor of my car and shoved under seats in crowded lecture auditoriums. Also, dare I say it…might it be water-proof??? On a campus as big as the one at the University of Georgia (my alma mater), bad weather is a major concern since there’s not always a place to duck and hide from the rain. Alas, my needs now require a demure work bag, but a cute, inexpensive tote like this one makes me miss college. Does this tote look familiar? Shannon covered the Peacock Cosmetic Bag a little while back which boasts the same pattern and some similar pros. Buy through Shop Bop for a super reasonable $88.

LeSportsac Lexie Tech Tote

When I think of LeSportsac, I don’t necessarily think of clean design and aesthetic restraint. That’s really not there thing, and I won’t pass judgement on that – to each her own, and they’ve got a huge following of people that eat it up and adore it. That’s why I was surprised when I saw the LeSportsac Lexie Tech Tote. In my all-time-favorite-neutral grey, the tote is subdued, simplisticly chic, and very usable in day to day life. It’s so hard to find a stylish, well-made laptop bag, and with a name like Lexie Tech Tote, that is surely what this is intended to be. The center compartment is padded for safe storage, and because the bag is fashionable, it doesn’t scream “steal me, I have a laptop inside!” I also find the side-fastening very interesting; the clips pull the bag shut without giving it a hard closure on the actual opening. Smells innovative to me – I truly cannot remember seeing something like that elsewhere. All things considered, this is surely the chicest tech bag I’ve seen in a long while. Buy through Shop Bop for $120.

LeSportsac Peacock Val Cosmetic Bag

Lusting after a gorgeous handbag is always fun. But from time to time, I come across a handbag-esque item that I think is worth sharing. I would have to say just about every time I reach for my make-up bag, I say to myself, “I really could use a new one”. I am sure you know what I am talking about. Make-up bags aren’t something I lust after nor do I wish I had several to choose from depending on my outfit. However, you know it is time for a new one when the the inside lining looks like a color palate an artist would die for. For me, the LeSportsac Peacock Val Cosmetic Bag is a great option. I don’t think it makes much sense to spend your money on something that never leaves the house (except when traveling) and is bound to get dirty. Yet at the same time, I like the idea of a fun and functional make-up bag like this one.

And actually, since the bag is so affordable, you could buy this, fill it with new make-up, other goodies and give the fun-filled bag to someone for a holiday gift. Ooooh, I like that idea. I might have to do it myself! But it got me thinking, should I spend a little more on a make-up bag, I mean is there any reason to? What do you think? At this point, I’m still pretty pleased with the look of this bag and I might have to visit Shop Bop to buy it for an ever so reasonable $23.
