The soft, lavender color is gorgeous. I am not really sure it is a color I would rock during the Fall, but it is a great bag for Winter, Spring and even Summer. In typical Kooba fashion, the leather is downright supple and I am sure it will age gracefully. The size and shape I can totally work with. However, my hang up is with several flaps and clasps throughout the bag. For me, it is just a bit over the top. Clearly the bag has plenty of room for whatever you might need, but I would really have to be able to embrace the flaps in order to make this bag mine. Buy through Bluefly for $327.

And that being said, I’m not sure why we’ve seen so few of these types of things from Kooba lately. I can understand wanting to advance your brand identity and innovate your offerings, but they do bags like this so well.

It seems like it’s been a rather quiet fall/winter season for Kooba – I’ve seen their styles here and there, but not as much as I usually expect to. Some of their holiday stuff looks like it’s going to be fantastic, so I hope to see more of their designs on store shelves soon, but for now I’ll satiate my lust for their bags with this particular hobo. The leather is just begging me to touch it. Buy through Net-a-Porter for $595.

The Kooba Lizard Embossed Soft Tote is an absolutely gorgeous bag that would certainly be one you can use day in and day out. From a distance you might not be able to notice that the leather is lizard-embossed but get a little closer and you can appreciate the excellent execution of lizard embossed leather. Love it! Not sure if you want a blue bag – fear not – the bag comes in black as well. Moving on from the leather, I am totally fixated on the silver hardware. It is a bit chunky, but absolutely perfect for this large tote. Buy through Nordstrom for $495.

The Kooba Lizard Embossed Mini Crossbody Bag might be tiny but it packs a huge punch of style. The asymmetrical flap is absolutely amazing. It offers the perfect amount of flare for this small bag. Instead of being a simple small crossbody bag, this flap draws the eye to the fabulous detail and thought that has gone into the bag. The cutout handles help make the bag seem larger than it is and this is a good thing. If you are bored with black, you can get the same lizard-embossed look in blue. What a perfect bag for a night out on the town. Buy through Nordstrom for $195.

Beyond the leather, I am also loving the old English brass hardware and saddle-stitched buckle accenting. All of these aspects come together for the Kooba Gabi Hobo making it an instant hit. It is also the single flat shoulder strap that adds something unique to the bag. Kooba is great at picking just a few details and working closely on them to ensure that the concept is totally flawless. Speaking of the shoulder strap, the 10″ drop means there is plenty of room for this bag on your shoulder without having it come up too close. And another great thing about this Kooba bag has to be how versatile the bag is. In this case, versatility applies to both one person and her use of the bag as well as the age spectrum that is covered. Mom and daughter alike would look great carrying it. Remember a few days ago, when I said suede was dated and conservative and not my thing at all? Well, I’ve found a notable exception: the Kooba Darcy Shoulder Bag.

And really, how could you not love it? The little bag is very structured, so it makes up for the unpleasantly inexpensive visual that suede can create if it’s allowed to slouch too much. Plus, since the bag is so petite, I don’t feel like a suede blanket is about to cover me.

Of course, the real star of the show here is the gorgeous, saturated, bright purple color. Who doesn’t want to add a little pop of that to every outfit in their closet? I know that I do. Buy through Luna Boston for $245.

But then, as you look at the bags a little more you will notice wonderful detailing no matter how noticeable or not. The Kooba Amber Satchel takes everything I love about this brand and adds a few twists. This particular bag has gorgeous brushed gold hardware with a fabulous piece of leather woven and gathered in a soft knot. With plenty of room to carry anything you want, this is the perfect satchel! Buy through Luna Boston for $545.

When I first laid eyes on this Kooba bag I thought to myself ‘perfect’. From the large drop on the shoulder strap, to the cross-bag belt, to the rich leather, the Kooba Ricky Hobo hits all the right marks in my book.

Even the name is perfectly fitting. This is not an overly girly feminine bag. It is a throw over your shoulder, practical, use everyday bag. And I adore it. Kooba uses superb leather and the relaxed feel of the bag will only allow the leather to get nicer with time. There is an outside zipper pocket along with an inside zipper and two open pockets. If you are looking for a handbag that you can use for a long time and it works for many seasons, this is a contender. Buy through Saks for $595.

This black leather hobo has a perfectly placed bow that seems to have been weaved in and out of the gold-toned rings. In addition to the gold-toned rings along the top of the bag, you will also find them where the shoulder strap meets the top of the bag. I love it. Plus, the shoulder strap looks long enough to swing your arm through without having the bag ride up too much (a huge pet peeve of mine). Now factor in the price and all I can say is, way to go Kooba, way to go. Buy through Bloomigdale’s for $295.

I don’t really even like crossbody bags, but this one is great. It’s not so enormous that it looks like it would be better used as a laptop tote than a handbag, and Kooba priced it commensurate to its size (something few designers deign to do). The black leather looks fabulous and soft, plus the shape should be easy to wear and it’s got a couple pockets to hold all your stuff. This is a great alternative to many of the much more expensive bags that have a trendy long shoulder strap, and Kooba makes great bags in general. Buy through Saks for $395.
