Juicy Couture Quilted Crossbody Bag
July 14th, 2009 / Posted in Juicy Couture, Under $200 by Amanda Mull.No…just…no. I refuse. I do not believe that a large company would have made this bag with the intention of marketing it to grown women or people that can afford a handbag that costs more than $100. It just…it makes no sense. It makes my face hurt. It makes my hair hurt. And it makes me wonder who, other than overindulged 12-year-olds, they thought they were going to sell the Juicy Couture Quilted Crossbody Bag to.
The shape isn’t great, but in the black version, it isn’t quite as magnificently terrible. The same with the ruffle – it’s still oddly Lolita-esque, but in a dark color, you don’t notice it as much. When the bag is baby pink, though, as you see it here…it charts areas of awfulness heretofore undiscovered by any bag we’ve previously covered. It looks like a bag made for toddlers playing house, but its price is in the 3 digits and it’s apparently meant to be carried unironically and by adults. For once, I’m actually hopeful that it’s only spoiled kids who are carrying this – they’re the only ones that ever should. Buy through Nordstrom for $128.

I can see some 16-year-olds carrying this, and I think that there are plenty of rich parents/boyfriends who would buy it for the tight-shirt-pink-bag 7 to 16 year old set.
This is definitely for tweens. Definitely not my fav Juicy Couture . . .
Doesn’t it bear an uncanny resemblance to a diaper?
OMG..it *totally* looks like a diaper! Eeeeeeeeek!!!
One more reason not to purchase (besides the fact that it’s hideous).
whoa… it’s as frightening as the trailers for Toddlers and Tiaras, but I think that may be its market…
Looks like an ugly bag for a 13 year old. Save your money for a really cool bag…this is a waste of money.
I saw this today while on a shopping trip…and if you can at all imagine it, this bag is even *worse* in person. I kid you not.
This must have been a part of the Halloween “Baby” costume.
Where I live, I see teens with bags that cost 3X as much as this one, so I can see a lot of tweens/teens with over-indulgent parents and 20-somethings trying to look cutesy carrying this…the same ones you see with the pink phones covered with rhinestones. There definitely is a market for this–a market which I’m not a part of–but to each his [her] own!
nice bag
