You guys know my distaste for multiple types of handles on one bag, or at least you do if you’ve been paying attention. It seems kind of indecisive to me even if it can be, at times, helpful. Normally it’s extra long shoulder or messenger straps with which I disagree – kinda superfluous, right? Well, when it comes to the Foley + Corinna Stanton Convertible Tote, it’s the satchel straps that are bugging me.

Usually I like satchel straps, so I’m trying to figure out what it is about these that bothers me. I think they’re just a little too big and a little too stiff – instead of being one of two reasonable options, they seem to overtake the shape of the bag when not in use and obscure the design. That would probably be ok if the bag looked best when using those handles, but it looks a lot better when carried by shoulder strap. So why include the little ones at all? They’d just get in the way. Buy through ShopBop for $548.
I don’t know what to think. I believe there is also a third strap…? Check out the pictures on shopbop. There’s the satchel handles, the hobo strap (in the picture you posted) and then there’s a picture on shopbop with an extra long messenger type strap and the hobo strap is wrapped around the front. That probably didn’t make any sense, so here is the picture.

I am so confused!
(I kinda like this look, though: http://g-images.amazon.com/images/G/01/Shopbop/pcs/media/images/products/foley/foley2020212867/foley2020212867_prod_zoom_back_v1_m56577569831546137.jpg)
The handles on this bag are very reminiscent of the Botkier Sasha. And I agree – the satchel straps sort of stiffly flap to the side.
I agree – the look of those straps drives me bonkers on this bag.
